In learning how to become a security guard, you must know that applicants are expected to possess a driver's license. Employers also often give preference to armed security guards that have extensive experience in other fields, such as police or the armed forces.

Your Associates degree in criminal justice will give you easy access to a career in this field. Jobs in criminal justice in this niche ensure passenger safety at all times.  Part of security guard jobs requires them to report suspicious activities to the local law enforcement authorities. They should be able to respond well during emergency or tense situations. Part of their training will equip them with the capability to manage situations to prevent panic from escalating.
